10 Years on the Trail: A Candle That Gives Back

Ten years ago, a friend and I set out on a hike that would change my life forever. Our first taste of backcountry camping was tougher than we expected, but it lit a spark and we quickly planned our next adventure — a 7-day backpacking trek on the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland — there were many ups and downs (literally) but it was a journey that challenged us in every way and deeply connected me to the land.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of that journey, I wanted created something special, something that gave back:

A limited edition candle that captures the scent of the forest — moss, fir and spruce trees, woodsmoke and an earthy warmth rounded out by a touch of vanilla for balance.

Each candle comes in a sleek special edition matte black glass jar, soy wax, cotton wick and paraben and phthalate free fragrances.  Approx burn time 45+ hours

Giving Back to the Place That Gave Me So Much

For every limited edition candle sold, $5 will be donated to:

The East Coast Trail Association — preserving one of Newfoundland’s most iconic long-distance trails.

 If I hit my goal of selling 60 Into The Wild candles, I will personally match the donations, and add an additional $300 to the donation pot.

Let this candle be more than just a scent — let it be a memory, a cause, and a tribute to the power of nature.

*Please note, this initiative is solely organized and operated by Lighthouse Fragrance Co. and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the East Coast Trail Association. All funds are collected by LFC and will be donated directly to the ECTA upon completion of the fundraiser.  The fundraiser will conclude on the 30th of September, 2025 (or when sold out).
